Christos Ekonomidis is a Senior Director at BNY focused on transformation. He leads enterprise market structure initiatives by coordinating all related global business, communications, financial, legal, operational, system and project workstreams to ensure bank readiness and regulatory compliance. He currently leads initiatives on central clearing of US Treasuries, European T+1 (one day securities settlement), and 24-hour trading in the US. Notably, he has led recent programs such as migrating North American securities markets to T+1 and transitioning from LIBOR to other global risk-free rates.
With over 15 years dedicated to the financial services industry, Christos specializes in driving transformation efforts across fixed income, equities, and derivatives markets. Before his tenure at BNY, he worked at consultancies including Sapient Global Markets and EY where he drove innovative strategies to manage risks and improve business performance.
