About me

Dr Thomas Meyer is the Director for SimCorp Luxembourg. His responsibilities include the development of SimCorp’s Alternatives Strategy solution.

Prior to joining SimCorp, Thomas played a leading role in building an Alternative Investment Fund Manager operations in Luxembourg and served as its Conducting Officer. His previous appointments include Head of Risk Management and Monitoring at the European Investment Fund, and Director of the EVCA (now Invest Europe) and Secretary of its Private Equity Risk Measurement Group. Thomas was also Chief Financial Officer at Allianz Insurance, Asia Pacific, and Intelligence Officer for the German Air Force. 

Thomas is a Shimomura Fellow of the Development Bank of Japan and was a visiting researcher at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo. He has authored and co-authored several books on investment strategies and risk management for illiquid alternative assets, with titles including ‘The Art of Commitment Pacing’ (2024, John Wiley & Sons), ‘Private Equity Unchained’ (2015, Palgrave MacMillan), ‘Beyond the J Curve’ (2011, John Wiley & Sons, translated into Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese).
