James Mulligan advises global financial institutions and service providers across technology transactions, outsourcings, and commercial contracts.

About me

James Mulligan's practice encompasses a broad spectrum of financial services-specific transactions, complex IT and business process outsourcings, use of artificial intelligence, and other technology-specific transactions, such as "as-a-service" arrangements. He has completed secondments to a global financial institution and a leading UK technology and financial services business.

James also maintains an active advisory practice and is a subject matter expert on third party risk management requirements within financial services. James has published articles with the Journal of Securities Operations and Custody and his thought leadership on regulatory expectations around third party risk management and artificial intelligence (among other topics) is frequently syndicated, including by Funds Europe, Global Relay Intelligence & Practice and Concurrences.

James is named as a recommended lawyer for technology transactions in Legal500 UK, 2025 edition.
